Cyber Battle of Nordic-Baltics2023.05.10 Cyber Battle of Nordic Baltic 2023 registration encourages ICT teachers and educators to find the interested students and form their own teams and register for the competitions of ethical hacking this autumn. Alongside with the tournament for youth, a networking and learning opportunity for the teachers, educators, policy makers and cyber education enthusiasts called Cybercation – Nordic-Baltic Educators’ Forum will take place on 11 November in Tartu, Estonia. Cyber Battle of Nordic-Baltics 2023 is the biggest students’ ethical hacking event in the Nordic-Baltic region which aims to raise awareness of young people and educational institutions on cyber security. The competition is organised in cooperation with CTF Tech. It’s goal is to teach cyber security fundamentals in practical, realistic, and ethical manner in order to improve the cyber security skills in the region and thus make it more stable and secure.

The Battle will take place on 11 November in Tartu, Estonia. However, local teams will have to pass through the semi-final competition during the virtual bootcamp on 22–24 September. Nordic Council of Ministers Office in Estonia is covering the travelling expenses for the best teams from each country to participate in the grand finale.  Who?

  • The event is aimed at young people in the age of 15-24 who are interested in the cyber world but have no previous exposure or experience in the field.
  • Teams consisting of 3-5 members from all Nordic-Baltic countries are welcomed to take part.
  • This year there is also an opportunity to participate with “girls only” team. They have the same tasks, but compete against other “girls only” teams.

When?

  • Virtual bootcamp led by the cyber experts for the Nordic-Baltic teams will take place on 22-24 September, both days from 11am till 3.30pm (EET). Bootcamps are followed by self-studying the additional materials. At the end of the bootcamp semi-final will take place, where the best national teams will be selected.
  • Final competition for the best teams will take place on November 11 in Tartu, Estonia.

Why?

  • During the two-day cyber course, our cybersecurity experts will provide you with the basic knowledge and skills to work in the cyber world using a fun learning environment.
  • You will acquire basic knowledge on the following topics: Linux Basics, Port Scanning, DNS (name server) and Web Server Listing, Brute-Forcing, Metaslpoit, Cyber Security and Cyber Wisdom, Steganography, Cryptography, Web Vulnerabilities, Security Vulnerabilities.
  • And last, but not least you will gain an insight into the minds of hackers.

Last year, in the contest of ethical hacking  Cyber Battle of Nordic-Baltics 2022, Lithuania was represented by the team of second-year students of the bachelor's study program Information Systems and Cyber Security of Vilnius University Kaunas Faculty named "ITGuys N' Routers" and won the 7th place in the battle.
