Dear researchers,
The Lithuanian Research Council, promoting the development of the system of internships for young scientists after doctoral studies and raising the scientific qualifications of interns, announces a call for proposals for the projects of posdoctoral studies.
Deadline for submission of the applications: 30 September 2023.
Duration of the project: 24 months. The start of the project implementation must fall within the interval of 15.01.2024 - 31.03.2024.
Budget of the project: up to 100 000 Eur. Funds must be planned for the entire duration of the project and for each calendar year. The research supervisor salary costs are not included in the project cost estimate.
Research fellow is researcher (Lithuanian or foreign) who has a science doctorate degree awarded by a Lithuanian or foreign science and studies institution, and for whom no more than 5 years have passed from the date of the science doctoral dissertation defense to the date of the application submission deadline specified in the call for proposals (this period is extended 18 months (in the case of maternal pregnancy and childbirth, parental leave) for each child born before or after the date of obtaining the doctoral degree, upon presentation of the birth certificates of the child(s), or during a specific actual period, upon presentation of documents justifying pregnancy and childbirth, paternity leave or leave period(s) to look after the child(s)) and carrying out the scientific (artistic) research work provided for in the project.
The Research fellow will be employed at Vilnius University. The research fellow 's total annual work hours for the project are 2010 hours (1 full-time). During the implementation of the project, the research fellow must go for an internship to a foreign science and study institution or research center, laboratory, company, institution, library, archive, expedition, etc. The minimum duration of the trip is 1 month. The departure period can be divided into parts, one of which must be at least 15 days.
The monthly salary amount is EUR 2228.28 without social insurance and other contributions, which are automatically calculated separately in the "Social insurance and other contributions" section.
Research supervisor is scientist working in Vilnius university, who during the implementation of the project leads the scientific research work carried out by the research fellow. The postdoctoral project does not have to be supervised by the research fellows doctoral dissertation supervisor. The Research fellow and the Research supervisor may have different fields of study, but experience is important. The application is submitted by research supervisor filling out a form in the electronic system https://junkis.lmt.lt. The application is submitted in English.
The following attachments must be submitted together with the application:
1. A letter from the host institution regarding project implementation assurance (Lithuanian);
2. Documents required to assess the competence of research fellow:
2.1. a copy of the document certifying the degree of Doctor of Science (preferable in English or Lithuanian languages);
2.2. curriculum vitae (in English);
2.3. lists of the most important scientific publications or art research papers (no more than 10) and other scientific or artistic productions (no more than 5) (with detailed bibliographic information, links to Clarivate Analytics Web of Science, Scopus or other database or publicly available source , which would allow checking the information provided (if such references are not available, copies of articles, monograph or study title and content pages, copies of artistic research output, information on the fact of registration of patents, plant or animal varieties, cell lines, microorganism strains are provided). Art research works can be indicated in accordance with, but not limited to, the Chairmen of the Lithuanian Research Council on 20 November 2019. November by order No. V-600 approved Exemplary list of possible productions of artistic research and dissemination projects in the fields of art (in English).
3. Documents required to assess the competence of the research supervisor:
3.1. a copy of a document confirming the degree of Doctor of Science or Arts or the status of a recognized artist;
3.2. a curriculum vitae containing, among other information, the experience accumulated in the last 10 years before the last date of the application submission deadline specified in the call, in the supervision of science or art PhD students and the experience accumulated in the last 5 years before the last date of the application submission deadline specified in the call, the experience accumulated in participating in scientific or art research projects and performing other scientific or artistic professional activities (in English);
3.3. a list of the most important scientific publications or art research papers published in the last 5 years (no more than 10) and other scientific or artistic productions (no more than 5) published before the last day of the application deadline specified in the call (with detailed bibliographic information, links to Clarivate Analytics Web of Science, Scopus or another database or publicly available source that would allow checking the information provided (if such links are not available, copies of articles, monograph or study title and content pages, copies of artistic research output), information on patents, plants or the fact of registration of animal breeds, cell lines, strains of microorganisms and other works) (in English). Art research works can be indicated in accordance with, but not limited to, the Chairmen of the Lithuanian Research Council on 20 November 2019. November by order No. V-600 approved Exemplary list of possible productions of artistic research and dissemination projects in the fields of art (in English).
4. Copy of documents regarding the grant of maternity leave, paternity leave or parental leave of the intern or the birth certificate(s) of the child(ren) (if applicable).
