The library has 25 workstations (12 of which are computerised). A wireless eduroam network is available, and there are 7 informal lounges on the third floor of the library.

Vilnius University Library subscribes to and tests databases (i.e. EBSCO Publishing, Emerald, Springer LINK, Cambridge Journals Online, etc.) in various scientific fields and recommends them for use by students and lecturers. For more information on recommended databases for the KnF research community and other research-related information, please visit the Subject Librarian page.

VU researchers and students can contact the faculty Subject Librarian for individual or group consultations on the search and use of information resources and on open access and scholarly communication issues. The students can also request training on the topics of their choice.

Use databases at home

Vilnius University staff and students can securely connect to the University's computer network from home using the VU VPN service.

The VU VPN allows users to access all the resources of the VU computer network as if they were working from a workstation located on the VU computer network.

The main features of the VU VPN are the following:

  • Access to the databases subscribed by VU Library.
  • Activation of university licences for Microsoft applications.
